FAIRY STATUE

I came across this enchanting little statue in the center of Oslo a couple of days ago. I've never seen it before. A little touch of magic in a rainy summer day.

MY NEW PARKA

Just thought I'd tell you a little about my new parka that you saw me wearing in Bergen. You can find it here. In this pic I'm also wearing my lovely little medicine bag from New York. It's authentic Native American.

WHERE NATURE RULES; THE WESTERN PART OF NORWAY

Gudvangen
Gudvangen, Viking Valley. Next year the viking village will be finished. I'm going back for sure! Gudvangen is situated in Nærøyfjorden, (a part of Sognefjorden) which is on the UNESCO's world heritage list.

"The beautiful fjords of Norway", may be a clichèe, but when you come here you understand why. It's breathtaking and absolutely beautyful! It's both relaxing and exciting at the same time. The narrow roads clinging to the mountain side overlooking the fjords can be very exciting to say the least. You have to drive very carefully! Here nature rules.
Gudvangen

The small village of Undredal, famous for it's goat cheese, both white and brown.

Tvindefossen, near Voss.

THE FIRST AMERICANS

I love fringe bags, fringe shoes, fringe jackets, fringe everything! I want to write a couple of words about the cultures that gave us fringe fashion: the first Americans, the indigenous people of America. I think the world need to appreciate theese people and their culture more than we're doing. Not just because they were treated with cruelty and terrible injustice, but also because their heritage and culture is of great value to to all of us, to humanity. In some way they represent a connection to our own bygone past. They can teach us a lot about respect for the earth and for life, and about being close to nature, a part of us we in the modern world has forgotten. We yearn for this closeness to nature and closeness to ourselves. Maybe the fringe fashion is an expression of this longing. Let's celebrate theese wonderful cultures and their gift of beauty to the world, both in fashion and in philosophy.

VIKING MARKET IN BORRE

I've been to my first viking market and I loved it! I highly recommend it. It's really like a journey back in time.

IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

FLOWER HEAD BAND

I made this flower band just for fun. The roses are actually for decorating the house. I sew them onto a light purple silk band and voilà.

BACKPACK LOVE
